COACH STOCKLIN NAMED OLYMPIC CONFERENCE COACH OF THE YEAR FOR 2ND STRAIGHT YEAR.

Bob Stocklin was honored by NJ.com as the Olympic Conference Coach of the Year for the 2nd Straight Season. Paul VI finished with an Olympic Conference Record of 10-3-1 (7-2-1 in the Olympic-National Division). Paul VI also qualified for the SJSCA Coaches Cup for the first time in nearly 20 years.

PVI LANDS SEVEN ON THE OLYMPIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS.

PVI players took up close to half of the 1st Team All-Conference positions and added another to the 2nd team as a total of seven players were honored. 
1st Team: Jon Leary (GK), Matt Gurcsik (Def), Paul Chaykin (Def), Landon Sentak (Mid), Brandon Velasques (Fwd), Nick Anselmi (Fwd)
2nd Team: Dave Schuhl, Mid

TRANSFORMATIVE SEASON ENDS AT THE HANDS OF ST. AUGUSTINE IN THE NON-PUBLIC SOUTH JERSEY FINAL.

Paul VI was shut out for the first time this season at St. Augustine in a 3-0 loss. Paul VI reached its first final in nearly 2 decades and finished this remarkable season 9-4. The future is bright, with 9 starters returning for the 2021 season.

PVI AVENGES EARLY SEASON LOSS, GRINDS OUT 4-3 WIN AGAINST BISHOP EUSTACE IN SECTIONAL SEMI-FINAL.

Bishop Eustace handed PVI its only home loss of the season in early October. This time around, PVI was able to grind out a 4-3 win in a thrilling game that came down to the last minute. Anselmi, Carpinella (2), and Guerrero scored for Paul VI. PVI will travel to St. Augustine for the sectional final game.

PVI CRUISES TO SECTIONAL SEMI-FINALS WITH DOMINATING PERFORMANCE AGAINST WILDWOOD CATHOLIC.

PVI scored early and often and eased into the semi-finals with a 10-0 win against Wildwood Catholic. Nick Anselmi opened the scoring with his team high 7th goal. There were a total of 9 different scorers for PVI. Next up is a home semi-final matchup with division rival Bishop Eustace.

ANSELMI LIFTS PAUL VI IN OT THRILLER AGAINST WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP.

In PVI's previous five encounters with Washington Township, they were outscored 29-0. That changed when PVI took down one of the most formidable programs in South Jersey by beating 6th ranked Washington Township 3-2 in OT. Brad Maslowski scored a screamer from 25 yards out to tie the game 1-1 early in the 2nd half. Nick Anselmi scored his team leading 5th and 6th goals of the season to tie the game at 2, and then win it in OT. That brings PVI to 3-0 in OT games and 7-3 on the season.

DEFENSE CARRIES PVI TO ITS 5TH SHUTOUT WIN OVER EASTERN.

After weather the storm from 7th ranked Eastern, PVI prevailed in OT to record its 6th victory and 5th shutout of the season. Each team controlled one half of the game, but Brad Maslowski was able to convert a PK in overtime to win it for PVI. Leary stood out in net with 10 saves to record his 5th clean sheet.

PVI BLANKS SENECA 2-0.

After giving up 8 goals in 3 games, PVI got back to its sturdy defensive ways at Seneca. PVI ends its 5 game road trip with a 5-3 overall record. Nick Anselmi and Luca Scotto (PK) scored the goals.

CHEROKEE EDGES PAST PVI 3-2.

Cherokee grabbed 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half to take a 3-1 lead. Matt Guerrero scored late to give PVI a chance, but it was not enough. PVI falls to 4-3.

PAUL VI STORMS BACK IN OT THRILLER AT RIVAL CAMDEN CATHOLIC.

Paul VI found itself down 3-0 to local rival Camden Catholic. Anthony Carpinella grabbed a goal 10 seconds before half, and Paul VI began to climb back. Two goals by Nick Anselmi in the 2nd half and another in OT helped PVI grab a stunning come from behind win. Paul VI moved to 4-2 on the season.

PVI LOSES IN HEARTBREAKING FASHION TO SHAWNEE.

After going toe to toe with one of South Jersey's best for 80 minutes, Paul VI could not protect their lead and lost 2-1 at Shawnee. Brandon Velasquez gave Paul VI the lead early in the 2nd half before Shawnee equalized with 18 minutes left. Shawnee broke through after a smart quick free kick was played and scored with 9.5 seconds left.

PVI LEAVES IT LATE TO BEAT LENAPE ON THE ROAD.

Landon Sentak scored directly from a corner with 2 minutes left to play to seal the victory for PVI over Lenape. After a frustrating offensive performance, Landon Sentak's corner sailed in at the far post. PVI recorded its 3rd clean sheet in 4 games, and moves to 3-1 on the season.

LEARY LEADS PVI TO UPSET OF #7 CHERRY HILL EAST.

PVI bounced back from its loss to Bishop Eustace in a big way by blanking the 7th ranked team in South Jersey, Cherry Hill East. Brad Maslowski converted a PK in the first half. East piled on the pressure in the 2nd half, but sturdy defense and a stellar 14-save display from Jonathan Leary kept the Cougars out of the net. Leary was named Olympic Conference Keeper of the Week. PVI moves to 2-1 on the season.

SENIOR NIGHT ENDS IN HARD FOUGHT LOSS TO BISHOP EUSTACE.

Senior Night did not end as planned, with PVI suffering a 2-1 loss at the hands of rival Bishop Eustace. PVI battled back from a 2-0 halftime deficit, but could not find the equalizer in the 2nd half after Anthony Carpinella scored on an impressive free kick. PVI moves to 1-1 on the season.

PVI ROLLS IN OPENER AT WINSLOW.

PVI opened up its season in style with an 8-0 win on the road. PVI spread the goals around with 7 different goal scorers. Matt, Guerrero, Anthony Carpinella (2), Luca Scotto, Brendan O'Brien, Landon Sentak, Brandon Velasquez, and James Berenato all recorded tallies to get the season off on the right foot. Jonathan Leary recorded the shutout in net.

FALL SCHEDULE RELEASED

Paul VI will begin its 11-game conference only schedule away to Winslow Township on Friday, October 2nd.

PAUL VI HIRES 2010 GRAD BOB STOCKLIN AS ITS NEW HEAD COACH.

PVI Soccer welcomes back Class of 2010 graduate Bob Stocklin. The two-sport athlete at PVI continued his academic and soccer career at Chestnut Hill College, where he was a Captain and Academic All-Conference player. He started his coaching career with his alma mater as an Assistant Coach at Chestnut Hill College. After completing his MBA at Temple, he is excited to return to PVI to help build a winning program.
